Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant backend engineering experience building production systems
- Proven experience designing and implementing complex software systems end-to-end
- Deep knowledge of data modeling, normalization, query optimization, and indexing
- Strong experience with API design
- Experience with NoSQL databases (MongoDB)
- Experience building REST and/or GraphQL services
- Strong proficiency in a modern backend language (Node.js preferred)
- Experience shipping highly reliable systems in cloud environments
- Comfortable owning ambiguous, high-impact technical problems
- AI-forward mindset with experience using AI tools
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable, reliable backend systems
- Harden and optimize the platform for stability, performance, and release readiness
- Lead implementation of backend services, APIs, and data models
- Set technical standards and establish best practices across code quality and architecture
- Review code, debug complex issues, and improve performance
- Collaborate with Product, QA, and Design to translate business problems into technical solutions
- Utilize AI for development and analysis
- Help define engineering roadmaps, technical milestones, and delivery metrics
- Improve development workflows and processes to increase team velocity
