Requirements

  • Proficiency in Python, TypeScript, React, Next.js, and Node.js.
  • Experience with Dask, DuckDB, and data pipelining using Prefect.
  • Knowledge of columnar formats (Parquet, Arrow) and chunked stores (Zarr, Cloud-Optimized GeoTIFF).
  • Expertise in GIS and remote sensing tools: GEE, QGIS, Rasterio, GDAL, PROJ, xarray, GeoPandas, STAC.
  • Experience with Docker, IaC, and AWS compute services.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry.
  • Ability to reason about distributed systems and eventual consistency.
  • Experience with petabyte-scale data versioning.

Responsibilities

  • Design satellite-image processing pipelines using STAC, xarray, and Parquet/Zarr/IPFS.
  • Develop microservices to expose results via GraphQL/REST.
  • Build frontend dashboards using Next.js and React.
  • Create geospatial APIs using Node.js, Python, and FastAPI.
  • Automate infrastructure using IaC like Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Implement CI/CD and orchestration with Prefect.
  • Profile memory and I/O for petabyte-scale data workflows.
  • Lead engineering initiatives, conduct code reviews, and mentor team members.
