Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, platform engineering, or senior software engineering.
- Demonstrated experience designing and delivering application modernisation programmes within AWS.
- Experience modernising applications through refactoring, re-platforming, or re-architecting.
- Strong experience building and operating production systems with containers and Kubernetes.
- Solid backend engineering experience with Java or comparable stacks.
- Proven experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, and distributed systems.
- Experience improving operational maturity via automation, observability, and monitoring.
- Strong communication and influencing skills.
- AWS certification is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Define modernisation roadmaps and target-state architecture for services, infrastructure, and data flows.
- Assess legacy components to identify modernisation opportunities and technical debt.
- Implement modernisation changes directly within product codebases, including refactoring legacy components and decomposing monoliths.
- Introduce cloud-native engineering patterns such as microservices, event-driven architecture, and containerisation.
- Improve SaaS operational capabilities through automation of tenant lifecycle management and provisioning.
- Establish tenant-aware observability across logs, metrics, traces, and alerting.
- Define architectural standards, API-first design, and cloud governance.
- Lead technical workshops and collaborate with DevOps, Security, and Product teams.
