Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) and active bar membership in good standing.
- 8+ years of experience, with scope and judgment aligned to senior or Head of Legal-level work.
- 5+ years of experience managing commercial contract deliverables.
- 3+ years of experience contributing to an in-house legal team in a capacity beyond commercial contracting.
- Experience leading complex commercial deals with enterprise customers and financial institutions.
- Working knowledge of financial services, consumer protection, and data/privacy regulations.
- In-house experience in a high-growth or early-stage environment.
- Strong judgment, prioritization, and communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to both advise strategically and execute directly.
- Familiarity with AI tools to accelerate work.
Responsibilities
- Lead drafting and negotiation of complex commercial agreements, including enterprise customer contracts and strategic vendor/data partnerships.
- Partner with Sales, Product, Client Services, Information Security, and Finance to assess risk, and enable revenue with pragmatic legal guidance.
- Advise on product initiatives (data usage, features, customer experience), bringing a product-oriented legal lens to decision-making.
- Translate regulatory and data provider requirements into clear, actionable guidance for deals and operations.
- Build leverage and automation through systems by improving CLM (Ironclad), templates, and playbooks.
- Coordinate with the in-house legal team to manage shifting priorities and contribute in areas beyond your current expertise.
- Support business expansion and emerging initiatives, while staying ahead of fintech and regulatory developments.
