Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years of pharmaceutical or biotechnology market access experience.
  • At least 5 years of direct payer account management experience or equivalent payer-facing expertise.
  • Strong background in cell therapy, gene therapy, oncology, or specialty pharmaceutical products.
  • Deep understanding of payer decision-making processes, reimbursement strategy, formulary management, and specialty pharmacy dynamics.
  • Proven success supporting pre-launch and launch activities for innovative or high-cost therapies.
  • Strong expertise in health economics, outcomes research, and value-based healthcare discussions.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, stakeholder management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, highly strategic, and evolving environments with significant autonomy.
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% for meetings, conferences, and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic engagement and relationship management with national and regional payer organizations across commercial and government markets.
  • Develop and execute pre-launch and launch payer account strategies to support favorable reimbursement and patient access outcomes.
  • Educate payer stakeholders on disease burden, treatment value, innovative cell therapy processes, and clinical differentiation.
  • Analyze treatment landscapes, formulary trends, reimbursement dynamics, and competitive intelligence to anticipate market access challenges and opportunities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Market Access, HEOR, Pricing, Medical Affairs, Clinical, and Regulatory teams to develop payer-facing materials and evidence strategies.
  • Generate payer insights that inform contracting models, pricing strategies, and patient support initiatives.
  • Influence positive payer policy development while ensuring all activities remain compliant with legal and regulatory standards.
  • Represent the organization at partner meetings, conferences, and strategic industry engagements while supporting launch readiness initiatives.
