Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mining Engineering or closely related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years of relevant post-qualification experience in underground mine planning, design, and scheduling.
- Proficiency with mine planning software (Deswik, Vulcan, Surpac, MineSight, etc.).
- Strong technical writing skills for formal reports.
- Experience working with multiple consultants in the mining industry.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and strategic planning capabilities.
- Ability to work independently and mentor junior staff.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety.
- Ability to travel to Mingomba and other project sites.
- EIZ Certification preferred.
Responsibilities
- Lead mine design efforts for the Mingomba project including pre-feasibility and feasibility studies.
- Perform strategic mine design, sequencing, and scheduling utilizing Deswik.
- Conduct engineering trade-off studies, cost estimation, and economic analysis.
- Prepare technical and public disclosure documents for Mineral Resources and Reserves.
- Support surface and underground facilities engineering.
- Apply project management standards to manage all aspects of projects.
- Mentor junior-level staff and provide technical guidance.
- Identify and develop value engineering opportunities.
- Collaborate with geologists, hydrogeologists, and data scientists on modeling work.
