Requirements

  • Strong experience in credit risk strategy or decisioning analytics within a banking or consumer lending environment.
  • Proficiency in SQL, SAS and Excel (Advanced) with a credit risk modelling and scorecard environment.
  • Hands-on experience managing or using application scorecards and credit decision frameworks.
  • Strong analytical capability, with the ability to translate complex analysis into clear strategic recommendations.
  • Experience producing high-quality MI and presentations for senior stakeholders and governance forums.
  • Good understanding of the end-to-end credit lifecycle, particularly the front-book / applications stage.

Responsibilities

  • Designing, reviewing and optimising applications credit risk strategies, including policy rules, scorecard cut-offs and affordability decisioning.
  • Managing the ongoing performance of application scorecards, identifying emerging risk, performance drift or opportunities to improve risk-return outcomes.
  • Supporting the development, enhancement and implementation of new scorecards and segmentation approaches in partnership with Credit Analytics and Model Risk teams.
  • Producing clear, decision-focused MI and analysis covering application volumes, approval rates, risk performance and strategy impacts.
  • Delivering insight and recommendations to senior management and Credit Committees, contributing to strategy papers and governance submissions.
  • Leading or supporting the deployment of credit strategy changes into live decisioning environments, ensuring changes are well-controlled and appropriately governed.
  • Monitoring post-deployment outcomes to confirm strategies perform in line with expectations and the Bank’s risk appetite.
  • Working closely with Product, Underwriting, Technology and Operations to support new product launches, policy changes and strategic initiatives.
  • Helping to continuously improve credit strategy frameworks, documentation and controls, ensuring alignment with regulatory and internal standards.
