Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building modern, large-scale web applications.
  • Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
  • Deep understanding of Core Web Vitals, SSR/CSR tradeoffs, caching, and Lighthouse optimization.
  • Proven experience designing and running A/B tests and managing gradual feature rollouts.
  • Strong experience with analytics, tracking, and telemetry systems.
  • Experience working across the stack (Node.js and/or Ruby on Rails) and integrating with complex APIs.
  • Ability to make high-level decisions that balance speed, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Experience with modern authentication (OAuth, Google One Tap, FedCM).
  • Knowledge of technical SEO best practices.
  • Experience with platforms like Datadog or similar error-monitoring tools.
  • Familiarity with headless CMS platforms like Contentful.
  • Experience improving developer tooling, documentation, and internal workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of complex web initiatives from ideation and architectural design through rollout and iteration.
  • Drive improvements in user acquisition by optimizing browsing experiences and login flows (e.g., One Tap, FedCM, social authentication).
  • Architect and implement scalable, high-performance frontend systems using React and Next.js.
  • Identify and execute opportunities to improve site performance, focusing on Core Web Vitals, Lighthouse scores, and advanced data-fetching strategies.
  • Define and implement A/B testing, feature flags, and progressive rollouts to inform product decisions with real-time data.
  • Elevate tracking, telemetry, and error monitoring to provide deep visibility into user behavior and system reliability.
  • Partner closely with Product, Design, and Data teams to shape the roadmap and prioritize high-impact work.
  • Contribute to SEO strategies and content platform improvements, including CMS integrations and structured data.
  • Raise the bar for code quality and engineering practices by mentoring other engineers and improving developer experience.
