Requirements
- 3+ years of experience managing high-performing software engineering teams (3–10+ engineers), including senior and staff-level ICs.
- Strong technical background as a senior-level engineer or above, with deep expertise in scalable distributed systems.
- Proven experience owning production SaaS systems with 24/7 operational responsibility, including incident management and SLO-driven operations.
- Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS or Azure) and managed Kubernetes environments (EKS, AKS).
- Demonstrated experience leading multi-quarter architectural initiatives with measurable impact on scalability, performance, or reliability.
- Experience integrating and scaling AI tools within the software development lifecycle to improve engineering velocity and quality.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with engineers, product leaders, and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Preferred: experience in HPC, compute orchestration, or large-scale simulation platforms.
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing engineering team, fostering technical growth, collaboration, and strong execution across senior and staff engineers.
- Own the architecture, evolution, and scalability of the core job orchestration engine powering large-scale cloud compute workloads across multiple providers.
- Drive operational excellence for production systems, including incident response, SLO management, reliability improvements, and reduction of operational toil.
- Champion AI-assisted software development practices, integrating AI tools into the SDLC for coding, review, testing, and operational automation.
- Partner closely with Product, Design, and cross-functional stakeholders to align technical direction with product strategy and customer needs.
- Lead architectural discussions and technical decision-making on distributed systems, ensuring sound trade-offs for scale, performance, and reliability.
- Balance reliability investment and product delivery priorities while ensuring long-term scalability of core platform infrastructure.
