Requirements

  • College or university degree in related field
  • 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred)
  • Front-line development or sales and marketing experience (preferred)
  • Background related to business or professional school education (preferred)
  • Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, Phoenix (University’s alumni and donor database, a Salesforce platform)
  • Proficient in a Microsoft Windows computer environment
  • Proven record of accomplishment in devising cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
  • Strong commitment to customer service
  • Self-motivated and work well with and through others
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and tact

Responsibilities

  • Implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to raise major gifts in the West Coast region.
  • Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of current and potential donors with capacity to make gifts in excess of $100,000.
  • Travel regularly within assigned regions to meet with prospects and donors.
  • Plan and organize select cultivation events for small groups of high-level donors.
  • Work effectively and collaboratively with internal and external colleagues to achieve development goals and objectives.
  • Manage a portfolio of approximately 115 prospects.
  • Meet or exceed activity goals for prospect qualifications, solicitations, and funds raised.
  • Annually close gifts in excess of $100,000.
  • Support deans, faculty, and other school leadership in the cultivation and solicitation of prospects.
  • Coordinate with campus partners in fundraising and non-fundraising areas.
  • Create and administer stewardship plans.
  • Collaborate with Chicago Booth departments and teams (Annual Fund, Alumni Engagement, Career Services, and Admissions) on donor and prospect cultivation activities.
  • Plan, execute, and attend evening and weekend functions, as necessary.
  • Establish fundraising goals and priorities, design strategies, and monitor progress.
  • Identify, analyze, and qualify donor interest to maximize giving.
