Requirements
- College or university degree in related field
- 5-7 years of work experience in a related job discipline
- Bachelor’s degree or higher (preferred)
- Front-line development or sales and marketing experience (preferred)
- Background related to business or professional school education (preferred)
- Demonstrated skill and knowledge of, or ability to learn quickly, Phoenix (University’s alumni and donor database, a Salesforce platform)
- Proficient in a Microsoft Windows computer environment
- Proven record of accomplishment in devising cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Outstanding interpersonal and communications skills
- Strong commitment to customer service
- Self-motivated and work well with and through others
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and tact
Responsibilities
- Implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to raise major gifts in the West Coast region.
- Identify, qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of current and potential donors with capacity to make gifts in excess of $100,000.
- Travel regularly within assigned regions to meet with prospects and donors.
- Plan and organize select cultivation events for small groups of high-level donors.
- Work effectively and collaboratively with internal and external colleagues to achieve development goals and objectives.
- Manage a portfolio of approximately 115 prospects.
- Meet or exceed activity goals for prospect qualifications, solicitations, and funds raised.
- Annually close gifts in excess of $100,000.
- Support deans, faculty, and other school leadership in the cultivation and solicitation of prospects.
- Coordinate with campus partners in fundraising and non-fundraising areas.
- Create and administer stewardship plans.
- Collaborate with Chicago Booth departments and teams (Annual Fund, Alumni Engagement, Career Services, and Admissions) on donor and prospect cultivation activities.
- Plan, execute, and attend evening and weekend functions, as necessary.
- Establish fundraising goals and priorities, design strategies, and monitor progress.
- Identify, analyze, and qualify donor interest to maximize giving.
