Requirements
- 2+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems
- Proficient in Python or Kotlin
- Familiarity with the building blocks of distributed systems
- Experience with AWS
- Experience with MySQL
- Experience with Kubernetes
- Ability to translate a problem into a solution interacting with multiple software components
- Ability to write clear, easily understood, well tested and extensible code
- Comfortable navigating a large code base and debugging others' code
- Ability to provide feedback to other engineers through code reviews
- Ownership of personal growth, proactively seeking feedback
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration
Responsibilities
- Break down larger projects into individual tasks with support from tech lead and manager
- Deliver projects in multiple phases
- Collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery of work
- Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle
- Collaborate with product management, design & analytics in ideation
- Articulate technical constraints and partner on decisions regarding risks and trade-offs
- Support the operations and availability of team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics
- Escalate issues when needed and support “keep the lights on” & on-call efforts
- Contribute to a sense of community by engaging in growth and development activities such as participation in the interview process
