Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems
- Proficient in Python or Kotlin
- Familiarity with building blocks of distributed systems
- Familiarity with AWS
- Familiarity with MySQL
- Familiarity with Kubernetes
- Ability to design and implement solutions for complex problems across multiple software components
- Ability to write clear, easily understood, well tested and extensible code
- Comfortable navigating a large code base
- Experience debugging others' code
- Ability to provide feedback to other engineers through code reviews
- Ownership of personal growth and proactive feedback seeking
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Responsibilities
- Break down larger projects into individual tasks
- Deliver projects in multiple phases
- Collaborate with others for timely delivery
- Support peers and stakeholders in product development lifecycle
- Collaborate with product management, design & analytics
- Participate in ideation and articulate technical constraints
- Partner on decisions considering risks and trade-offs
- Contribute to the entire API lifecycle (designing, developing, testing, maintaining, evolving APIs)
- Support operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics
- Escalate issues when needed and support on-call efforts
- Contribute to team community by participating in growth and development activities, such as interviews
