- Fast, versatile writer capable of turning interviews into provocative, SEO/LLM-optimized blog posts
- Proficient in using LLMs (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) for brainstorming, outlining, and drafting
- Technical curiosity about SQL and the database market
- Comfortable "interviewing" stakeholders to extract great stories
- Organizational skills (e.g., Kanban board, spreadsheet management)
- Competitive drive to win search rankings
Responsibilities
- Execute a content strategy that aligns with corporate messaging to reposition MariaDB as the modern, higher-value alternative to MySQL and PostgreSQL.
- Own our visibility in the new search landscape, optimizing content not just for Google, but for LLM (Large Language Model) rankings.
- Build and own the global editorial calendar, ensuring a consistent, high-quality "drumbeat" of content (blogs, articles).
- Act as the primary editor and a key writer, working with internal engineers and external freelancers to publish regular, high-impact blogs and articles.
- Work with MariaDB’s copy editor as needed for final polish on content.
- Use AI writing and research tools as a core part of your workflow to 10x your output.
- Be the internal expert on how to use AI to scale our content without losing our unique brand voice.
- Establish a clear process for content production, giving the entire organization visibility into what is being published and when.
