Requirements

  • One of: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Microsoft Certified Azure Security Engineer Associate, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Cloud Operations, Red Hat Certified Engineer, or Red Hat Certified System Administrator certification

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain virtualized infrastructure across on-premises data centers and DoD and commercial cloud environments, including private, public, and hybrid clouds
  • Implement, configure, and upgrade host systems, hypervisors, and virtual application software, along with supporting hardware, software, and applications
  • Provide cloud-based infrastructure support for virtual machines, virtual appliances, software, programs, applications, and all associated virtualized components
  • Ensure the high availability, security, and integrity of hosts, virtual management platforms, and infrastructure resources
  • Monitor hypervisors, infrastructure, and virtualization applications by configuring alerts, reviewing error logs, and automating administrative tasks to maintain system stability
  • Install and maintain host and virtualization infrastructure patches and releases across development, test, pre-production, and production environments
  • Serve as a key technical resource for troubleshooting and resolving issues related to hosts, hypervisors, and virtual infrastructure
  • Create, maintain, and update accurate system documentation for assigned environments, including configuration details and change tracking
  • Assists with capacity planning, performance monitoring, and tuning of virtualized systems to ensure optimal operation
  • Participate in virtualization disaster recovery and fault-tolerance planning, including the development and support of disaster recovery strategies
  • Analyze performance trends to identify opportunities for optimization and improved system and application performance
