Requirements
- 3+ years of experience working in the data field in a product-driven environment
- Experience with Modern Data Stack tools (e.g. Snowflake/Databricks/BigQuery, dbt, Fivetran/Airbyte, Amplitude/Mixpanel, Metabase/Looker/Tableau)
- Experience writing and maintaining SQL in a production environment (e.g., dbt models, shared queries, dashboards)
- Confident in and passionate about using AI to do your job better, while knowing what is worth not outsourcing
- Experience at a small-to-mid size company
- Experience working across multiple stakeholder groups
- B2C subscription/SaaS experience
- Experience designing and analyzing A/B tests
- Ability to turn vague business questions into appropriate analytical approaches
- Experience influencing decisions, not just informing them
- Solid data quality intuition
- Enough technical foundation to catch AI-generated SQL errors
- Fluency in AI tools, with an understanding of where they shine and where they hallucinate
- Treat data work as a craft
- Motivated by progress, valuing shipped analyses over perfect ones
- Comfortable owning outcomes, not just deliverables
Responsibilities
- Transform data into clear, opinionated recommendations and help shape future decisions
- Build systems that allow others at YNAB to self-serve with confidence
- Determine the ‘right’ questions to ask, define measurable outcomes, and evaluate initiative cycles
- Strengthen data foundations and increase data literacy
- Shape what AI in data looks like at YNAB
- Own data quality end-to-end and co-own the operational health of the data stack
- Fix root causes of recurring data questions by improving data models and processes
- Explain complex topics to non-data colleagues, fostering data literacy
- Create self-service tooling with trustworthy results
- Provide thoughtful feedback on data work across the company for clarity, accuracy, and good practice
