Requirements
- 4+ years of experience in tax, ideally within public accounting or a corporate tax environment with exposure to compliance and reporting
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent relevant professional experience in taxation or finance
- Strong knowledge of corporate tax compliance, including GAAP and statutory reporting concepts
- Experience preparing or supporting tax provisions, returns, forecasts, and financial tax analysis
- Familiarity with tax systems, reporting tools, and financial modeling techniques
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively across finance and business teams in a collaborative environment
- CPA certification or Master’s in Taxation is a plus
- Experience in insurance or statutory accounting principles is a plus
Responsibilities
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual tax provisions under GAAP and statutory accounting frameworks, ensuring accuracy and compliance across reporting cycles
- Assist in the preparation, review, and filing of U.S. federal, state, and local tax returns, including estimates and payment calculations for corporate and insurance entities
- Prepare tax forecasts, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analyses to support reporting and decision-making processes
- Contribute to sales and use tax and other indirect tax compliance activities while maintaining adherence to tax calendars and deadlines
- Support audits, notices, and regulatory inquiries by preparing documentation, responses, and supporting analysis
- Collaborate with finance, actuarial, and business teams on tax planning initiatives and process improvement opportunities
- Identify and implement enhancements to tax processes, systems, and controls to improve efficiency and accuracy
