Requirements
- Experience working with highly scalable, event-driven distributed systems
- Developed multi-tenant software-as-a-service products
- Experience with Node.JS, Go, Rust, or similar languages
- Experience with Kafka and PostgreSQL, Redis, or similar systems at scale
- Ability to ship changes quickly without breaking things
- Thrives on challenges of building systems that process billions of events per day
- Excited about designing elegant and efficient systems that can handle terabytes of data
- Understands the importance of data integrity and reliability
- Experience with high-throughput data processing systems (analytics platforms, metric collection systems, log aggregation engines, streaming and batch-processing pipelines)
- Understanding the principles of designing distributed systems
Responsibilities
- Develop the infrastructure to capture, process, and provide data to PostHog's platform (product analytics, feature flags, CDP, etc.)
- Own the entire ingestion pipeline service from end-to-end
- Build open-source software
- Build in the hot path, ensuring customer and engineer satisfaction
- Start from first principles in designing solutions
- Ship small, confident, frequent steps forward
