How We Work

PostHog operates as a fully remote and globally distributed team, spanning over 20 countries. You will experience a culture built on transparency and autonomy. We default to asynchronous communication, favoring PRs, issues, and Slack over frequent meetings. Tuesdays and Thursdays are meeting-free days, safeguarding your focused building time. Engineers lead product teams, making critical product decisions. You will own your work end-to-end, contributing to a high-impact environment. We embrace ambition and an intentional 'weirdness' that drives innovation and fun.

Engineering at PostHog

You will solve interesting engineering challenges building highly scalable, event-driven distributed systems. Our core infrastructure relies heavily on ClickHouse, managing hundreds of terabytes of data. You will work with a modern stack that includes Django, Rust, PostgreSQL, Redis, and Apache Kafka. We use Terraform, Ansible, and Kubernetes to automate dynamic provisioning and scaling. This ensures our systems handle billions of events daily. You will also contribute to building an advanced query optimizer for ClickHouse. We leverage AI tools internally to augment workflows and deliver innovative product features like PostHog AI.
