Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in Data Science, Applied ML, or related roles in production environments
- Strong foundation in machine learning, experimentation, and statistical thinking
- Proven track record of driving business impact
- Highly proficient in SQL
- Highly proficient in Python
- Experience working cross-functionally with Product and Engineering teams
- Product mindset (identifying problems, prioritizing opportunities, driving outcomes)
- Extreme ownership (proactively pushing ideas into production)
- AI-native builder (actively uses AI tools like LLMs, agents, copilots)
- Speed and pragmatism (knows when to ship a scrappy V1 vs. build robust solutions)
- Strong communicator (explains complex ideas clearly, influences decisions)
Responsibilities
- Own Search, Recommendations, and Personalization end-to-end
- Improve ranking, relevance, and discovery across the marketplace
- Drive measurable lift in Booking CVR, rebooking, and engagement
- Identify opportunities independently and create your own roadmap
- Prioritize based on business impact, not technical novelty
- Design and analyze A/B tests and other experiments
- Develop and iterate on models (ranking, recommendation, personalization, etc.)
- Work across the stack—from data exploration to model design to experimentation
- Leverage LLMs, agents, and AI tooling to dramatically accelerate your workflow
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Analytics to bring ideas to life
- Communicate complex ideas clearly to non-technical stakeholders
- Act as a thought partner on product strategy

- Help shape future hiring and direction of the function
