Requirements

  • Advanced scientific degree required (PhD, PharmD, or MD).
  • 5+ years of experience in medical communications or scientific publications within a healthcare or agency environment.
  • Strong experience developing publications such as manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and scientific presentations.
  • Deep understanding of medical writing standards, editorial processes, and ethical publication guidelines (AMA, ICMJE, GPP2022).
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex clinical and scientific data.
  • Excellent organizational and project management abilities with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.
  • Experience in respiratory medicine is considered a plus.
  • CMPP certification is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of scientific publications, including manuscripts, abstracts, posters, and presentations.
  • Provide strategic medical communication guidance in collaboration with senior scientific leadership to support client brand objectives.
  • Oversee end-to-end content development processes, ensuring scientific accuracy, clarity, and adherence to publication standards.
  • Supervise and mentor Associate Scientific Directors and support cross-functional scientific teams.
  • Coordinate with internal writers, editors, and freelancers to manage research, drafting, data verification, and reference management.
  • Ensure compliance with established publication guidelines, including AMA style, ICMJE recommendations, and GPP2022 standards.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality output under tight deadlines.
  • Conduct scientific literature reviews and interpret clinical data to support evidence-based content development.
  • Collaborate closely with clients and internal teams to align deliverables with strategic communication goals.
