Requirements

8+ years of experience in the electric power or energy industry
Deep expertise in transmission planning and interconnection studies within WECC/CAISO environments
Strong hands-on experience with interconnection studies, including load, generation, and cluster study processes
Proficiency in power system modeling tools such as PSLF, PSSE, PSCAD, TARA, and ASPEN
Experience with IBR modeling, EMT studies, and transmission planning methodologies
Strong understanding of ISO and utility interconnection standards and procedures
Ability to bridge technical engineering analysis with commercial and strategic decision-making
Excellent communication skills with the ability to simplify complex technical findings for diverse stakeholders
Proven ability to work independently while collaborating across multidisciplinary teams and mentoring others

Responsibilities

Lead and execute complex generation and load interconnection studies across WECC and CAISO territories
Ensure compliance with ISO and utility methodologies and evolving regulatory requirements
Oversee interconnection and transmission planning studies, including injection, deliverability, and cluster studies
Perform model benchmarking and validation for generation and load projects using tools such as PSLF, PSSE, PSCAD, TARA, and ASPEN
Act as a subject matter expert on WECC interconnection frameworks
Review and validate study results, identify risks, and develop strategies to reduce upgrade costs and improve project timelines
Mentor and coach engineers, fostering technical excellence, ownership, and client-facing capability
Collaborate with leadership to enhance QA/QC processes, delivery frameworks, and technical standards
Support client engagement, RFP development, and go-to-market strategies
Represent the organization in industry forums, conferences, and technical publications
