Requirements
- Interested in management and building an engineering organization and culture as a leader candidate (CTO, VPoE, etc.)
- Able to express what they want to do through their output and co-create with teams and organizations
- Enjoys change and can boldly take on challenges even in unfamiliar areas or difficult situations
- Shared belief in the mission and values of Mercari Group and its various companies
- Students aged 16 or older who are expected to join the Mercari Group as new graduates in October 2027 or April 2028
- Interest in joining the Mercari Group as a software engineer after completing the internship
- Possessing one of the following 5 "BOLD" characteristics: Visionary mindset, ability to inspire and mobilize others, insatiable intellectual curiosity, grit regardless of the environment, or co-creation with AI
- Basic knowledge of RDBMS and SQL
- Experience in delivering results through projects utilizing the latest AI technologies and tools
- Experience developing/operating products
- Practical or research-level development experience in Backend (Go, PHP, Java for API development)
- Practical or research-level development experience in Frontend (JavaScript, React)
- Practical or research-level development experience in Mobile (Swift or Kotlin for iOS or Android)
- Practical or research-level development experience in Machine Learning (ML modeling or ML systems development)
- Practical or research-level development experience in Platform Engineering (Go, Kubernetes)
- Practical or research-level development experience in Site Reliability Engineering (Go, Kubernetes, Terraform)
- Practical or research-level development experience in Data Engineering (Python, SQL for data aggregation, analysis, or visualization)
- Practical or research-level development experience in Security Engineer (Go, Python, PHP, JavaScript)
Responsibilities
- Develop features for the flea market app Mercari
- Develop features for the smartphone payment service Merpay
- Develop features for the cryptocurrency/blockchain service Mercoin
- Join a team of software engineers with diverse backgrounds and expertise
- Take on responsibilities as a team member
- Participate in projects aimed at improving the user experience (UX) and specifications
- Engage with technology and data firsthand
- Produce tangible outputs
- Present work and actual results at a final report meeting
- Work to develop actual features integrated into the app
- Improve the operation of the app
