Requirements
- 5+ years across data science, data engineering, and analytics
- Strong SQL proficiency for complex queries and data modeling
- Strong Python for scripting, analysis, and data modeling
- Experience with Databricks or equivalent modern data platform (Snowflake, BigQuery)
- LLM experience including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, embeddings, RAG, and evaluation
- Traditional ML depth in classification, regression, clustering, NLP, and feature engineering
- Product mindset to filter signal from noise, understand user behavior, and connect analysis to product decisions
- Pipeline engineering experience to build reliable, scalable data pipelines
- Clear communication skills for presenting findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Experience at an early-stage startup or as a founding data hire (Preferred)
- Built product analytics from scratch (instrumentation, event taxonomy, dashboards, self-serve reporting) (Preferred)
- Legal or HR domain experience (Preferred)
- Experience with LLM evaluation and observability (tracing, scoring, drift detection) (Preferred)
- Familiar with dbt, Airflow/Dagster, Spark, or similar orchestration and transformation tools (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Build and own data infrastructure (pipelines, warehousing, ETL/ELT, data quality)
- Analyze product usage and user behavior to identify patterns and segment users
- Build and ship LLM-based systems, traditional ML models (classification, clustering, NLP), and evaluation frameworks
- Define and track key metrics (activation, retention, engagement, PQLs) to connect data to product and Go-To-Market decisions
- Run experiments (A/B tests, causal analysis, cohort studies) and measure impact rigorously and fast
- Turn data into product conviction by providing actionable recommendations to the team
