Responsibilities
- Oversee the core Medium product experience, including reading experience, editor, navigation, and product surfaces for readers and writers
- Foster the long-term health and growth of your team
- Elevate best practices across the engineering organization
- Partner with leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to bring Medium’s product vision to life
- Drive scope, impact, and strategic alignment
- Shepherd multi-quarter plans that align technical work with organizational goals and product strategy
- Hold teams accountable for high-quality outcomes end-to-end
- Operate as a key cross-functional voice in prioritization, product strategy, and technical direction
- Build and sustain great teams, owning hiring strategy end-to-end
- Create an environment of genuine psychological safety
- Attend Medium’s twice-yearly, in-person offsites
- Guide technical excellence, leading complex tradeoff conversations and decisions
- Guide the adoption of AI best practices and fluency
