Requirements

Proven experience in a leadership role
Chief of Staff or Business Operations leader experience
Partnering with CTOs or senior executives in a startup or consulting environment
Strong technical acumen with ability to understand system architectures
Ability to engage credibly with engineers and translate between engineering and business stakeholders
Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Analytical thinking to diagnose issues and drive decisions
Proven ability to independently lead complex, cross-functional initiatives
Ability to navigate ambiguity and translate into clear direction and actionable plans
Proven ability to partner across Engineering, Product, and Design, and other teams
Low ego, high impact personality

Responsibilities

Build a deep understanding of Hatch’s organizational and technical ecosystem
Form strong partnerships with leaders from within Engineering as well as Product, Design, Content and Marketing
Create a consistent and transparent communication cadence for engineering's roadmap and impact
Build a clear understanding of roles, ownership, and opportunities to improve alignment
Lead or co-lead strategic initiatives within Engineering and cross-functionally
Translate complex technical progress into crisp narratives for the exec team
Own the roadmap for engineering-led initiatives
Establish explicit ownership of improving operating systems (e.g., planning, dependency management, leadership forums)
Represent the VP of Engineering in cross-functional forums
Act as a strategic force multiplier, defining and executing engineering strategies and initiatives
Establish scalable systems for visibility, coordination, and execution
Drive alignment and execution on Hatch’s biggest strategic bets
