Job Details

At least 3 years of professional technical writing and editing experience
Experience creating high-quality, code-heavy product documentation and how-to guides
Hands-on experience with networking or security products
Comfortable in technical conversations with practitioners, engineers, and product managers
Comfortable with Git
Comfortable with GitHub
Comfortable with Markdown
Comfortable with the command-line interface
Experience using a docs-as-code publishing workflow
Strong editing skills
Ability to drive multiple projects from beginning to completion
Ability to collaborate with other writers, editors, product managers, and subject-matter experts
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills

Produce, test, and maintain quality, consistent, contextualized, and technically accurate documentation for products
Develop how-to guides, conceptual topics, reference guides, and tutorials
Write content for diverse audiences including software developers, infrastructure engineers, security practitioners, and decision-makers
Update and refine existing content to reflect product changes and feedback
Collaborate with subject-matter experts, product managers, and team to plan, organize, write, edit, review, and evolve documentation
Collaborate with other content creators to align content with organizational goals and strategies
Engage community of users through active participation in community spaces
Support engineers and other subject-matter experts who contribute to documentation
Contribute to information architecture and platform improvements
Become an expert in Tailscale's features and products and understand customer needs
