Requirements

  • 7 years of related experience managing projects
  • 3 years of experience managing a grant-making process (preferred)
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to positively and proactively engage stakeholders
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with or aptitude for building new initiatives
  • Experience in philanthropy and/or nonprofit sector (preferred)
  • Ability to actively engage in and demonstrate commitment to the Council’s Operating Principles and Inclusion values
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to listen well
  • Ability to positively represent the organization and its mission
  • Ability to manage many and/or differing tasks, maintain productivity, and successfully meet deadlines
  • Ability to work effectively and positively both independently and on a team
  • Experience or ability to use CRM database solutions, preferably Salesforce
  • Proficient skill in Microsoft Office 365 applications

Responsibilities

  • Manage a multi-pronged initiative supporting community foundations in implementing community-based projects for connection and collaboration, including a grant portfolio, learning and storytelling agenda, and preconference convenings.
  • Lead the implementation of virtual discussion series highlighting thinkers on collaboration.
  • Support programming offered in collaboration with external partners, such as Communicating Across Divides: A Facilitation Intensive.
  • Work with the Executive Vice President to build internal capacity for common ground related offerings.
  • Support the Executive Vice President in advancing strategy-related priorities and translating strategy into organizational process and policy.
  • Manage a variety of projects that advance the priorities of the Strategy, Learning, and Leadership team in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to overarching organizational goals by participating in cross-functional working groups.
