Requirements:
Customer-facing experience with ability to identify overall solution requirements beyond database needs. Firm grasp of cloud platforms, data integration, and security concepts. Ability to drive discussions around strategic and line of business objectives at CXO level. 5+ years of experience managing senior technical teams. Define and drive SE strategy, including asset creation and technical enablement. Define SE KPIs and guide SEs to achieve them. Support key and strategic sales motions across India from a senior technical leadership perspective. 5+ years of direct experience in technical management roles, technical selling, solution-based selling. Core data platform technical proficiency. Ability to deliver technical product presentations and demonstrations. Ability to lead product proof-of-concepts. Ability to formulate and implement SE organizational strategy and programs. Software product company cross-team collaboration skills. 5+ years of direct experience in PostgreSQL or EDB Postgres databases or Oracle databases (hands-on or leadership). Relational database experience (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server). Good understanding of NoSQL, unstructured data store concepts and familiarity with MongoDB, Hadoop, Cassandra. Good knowledge of SQL, and SQL query tuning & debugging techniques. DB server tuning and debugging experience. Basic to intermediate Linux system administration experience. Software installation & software troubleshooting experience. Understanding of key database deployment patterns in on-premise, cloud, and hybrid cloud environments. Familiarity with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud and working knowledge of local regional cloud offerings. Good understanding and hands-on experience of database legacy platform migration, Managed Database as a Service offerings, High Availability architectures, Upgrades/patching, Scalability, Performance, Security. Familiarity with Private/Public/Hybrid Clouds (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMWare Cloud, OpenStack), Virtualization in relation to databases. Familiarity with Containers (Docker), Microservices, PaaS (Kubernetes, OpenShift) in relation to Databases. Understanding of SQL, PL/SQL or PL/pgSQL (Desirable). Understanding of bash shell or Python scripts (Desirable).
Responsibilities:
Drive growth and transformation of the India sales engineering function. Technically qualify, design, and propose well-rounded solutions to meet customer needs. Engage with key India customers and partners, providing EDB technical expertise. Provide subject matter expertise to help India sales achieve plan targets. Provide leadership to India sub-regions, regional leads, and regional SEs. Work with EDB professional services to build statements of work. Work with Partner Channel and ISV teams to help them sell or embed EDB solutions. Assist clients and partners to build training and enablement plans. Provide leadership to all EDB SEs in India, including enablement plans and project support. Provide EDB product management & engineering guidance based on field feedback. Engage with Customer Success Management Teams to ensure customers gain value from EDB solutions. Support marketing teams in go-to-market initiatives and creating deep-dive presentations/demos.
