Director, Engineering Operations

10+ years of professional software engineering experience building secure, scalable, distributed systems. Deep hands-on coding expertise across multiple backend and platform languages (Java, Python, Go, C#, or similar). Strong system architecture experience (API design, cloud infrastructure, security-focused engineering). Proven technical leadership in complex, high-scale, or security-sensitive environments. Extensive experience with AWS and modern CI/CD practices. Familiarity with privileged access management, secrets management, or cybersecurity platforms is strongly preferred. Excellent communication, cross-functional collaboration, and executive-level influence skills. Ability to operate autonomously, drive clarity, and execute effectively. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.

Operate as a senior hands-on technologist within the Office of the CTO. Design, architect, and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance systems. Translate the CTO’s technical vision into actionable architectures and plans. Lead architectural reviews and ensure alignment across engineering teams. Identify and resolve complex technical bottlenecks. Drive strategic R&D initiatives. Represent engineering in executive forums. Evaluate emerging technologies. Collaborate with engineering leaders on technical strategy and roadmaps. Mentor senior engineers and technical leads. Participate in incident reviews, architecture assessments, and critical hiring. Potentially lead a small team of engineers.
