Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent; Associate or Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred. Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), or equivalent certification required. Minimum 3-5 years of progressive medical coding experience, preferably in home health, hospice, or related healthcare settings. Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding guidelines, and regulatory compliance standards. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and coding software systems.
Responsibilities:
Review and validate medical codes assigned to diagnoses, procedures, and services. Provide expert coding guidance and support to clinicians and other departments. Conduct coding audits and quality reviews. Generate and analyze coding productivity reports. Collaborate with IT and billing teams to resolve system issues impacting coding workflows. Participate in organizational initiatives, training and continuous improvement.
