Review complete case files, including petitions, medical records, affidavits, depositions, and exhibits. Identify key medical issues, analyze petitioner’s theory of causation, and assess scientific validity and medical reasonableness. Prepare draft and final expert reports with clearly stated opinions on causation, standard of care, merit, liability, and damages, including supporting literature. Respond to interrogatories and questions from DOJ and the U.S. Court of Federal Claims, with cited references. Provide testimony (in-person, teleconference, or video) and participate in pre-hearing preparation with DOJ. Advise VICP/CICP on vaccines, countermeasures, adverse events, and vaccine safety questions as requested. Protect PHI/PII, comply with Privacy Act and federal records requirements, and securely return/shred/destroy records within 30 days of case closure.
