Proposal Writer, small non-traditional defense contractor firm

2-5 years experience in technical or government-related proposal writing or business development. Excellent writing, editing, and narrative development skills. Comfort learning technical sensor, data, or engineering concepts quickly. Strong organizational and project management ability. Flexibility to wear multiple hats — writing, coordination, capture support, business-development tasks. Self-starter mentality: comfortable working autonomously, making decisions, and operating with limited process or guidance.

Prepare proposals for emerging solicitations to USG, to include SBIR/OTAs, and commercial opportunities. Convert technical documentation (sensor specs, cloud architecture, deployment logistics) into clear, persuasive proposals. Work directly with growth, engineering, and operations to collect content and shape solution narratives. Manage proposal timelines, content development, compliance checks, and submission logistics. Build and maintain a reusable proposal content library, boilerplate language, and past-performance summaries. Assist with capture planning, early-stage bid strategy, and customer-facing materials.
