Requirements
- At least one (1) year of onsite consecutive or simultaneous interpreting experience
- Two (2) professional references
- Minimum age: 18+ years or older
- Minimum education: High School Diploma
- Must reside in the state of WISCONSIN
- Full fluency in English and the target language
- Accreditation: American Translation Association (ATA), or trained/accredited through a higher education institution
Responsibilities
- Onsite (in person) interpretation assignments
- Interpretation between English and specified languages
- Provide consecutive or simultaneous on-site interpretation
- Use polite forms of expression and enunciation
- Deliver correct concepts and meanings
- Ensure correct grammar, clarity, and tones
- Follow speaker's direction and professionally interject
- Manage the flow of a conversation
- Refrain from side conversations and disagreements
- Comply with applicable ethics and standards
- Interpret for different types of State agencies
