3+ years audio editing and production experience 3+ years experience researching and writing for audio: broadcast and/or podcast Experience with and demonstrated commitment to fact-checking Experience with long form interviews Experience writing and producing segments that employ explanatory journalism, narrative storytelling, two-way interviews, and archival/field tape Experience scoring for narrative and two-way segments Ability to effectively collaborate with others Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, under stringent deadlines and changing conditions; ability to prioritize, anticipate and communicate effectively Ability to work independently but also work well as part of a team Ability to work a flexible schedule Ability to travel for work assignments

Record, mix and edit complex, multi-track audio stories with some supervision Take a story or episode assignment and see it through the process, working with the hosts to report, book guests, cut tape, write scripts, score, sound design and join in edits and final production, with some supervision Manage complex production assignments on a tight weekly deadline Contribute story and guest ideas for hosts Contribute to social media, digital stories, digital production and other aspects of podcast episodes Ensure that all content complies with NPR’s standards for accuracy and fairness Assist with creating and maintaining team workflow processes
