Senior Backend Engineer (f/m/x) - Delivery & Returns - remote

7+ years experience designing and building scalable backend services in a modern production environment Strong proficiency in Go Deep understanding of distributed systems and service-oriented architecture Well-versed in SQL and relational database design General knowledge of the frontend world and ability to perform basic tasks in frontend apps Self-starter with strong ownership, initiative, and ability to quickly learn complex systems Open-minded and communicate with clarity, directness, and respect Humility, low-ego, and thrive in a collaborative, transparent culture Excellent English skills Based in a European time zone Curious and eager to experiment with new software development approaches Degree in Computer Science (or related field) or equivalent work experience is desired

Design, build, and maintain core APIs and backend services Own the operations and monitoring of production systems Integrate third-party systems and APIs Own design and implementation of new features and services Identify best practices and create/suggest standards Document and demonstrate solutions Mentor junior colleagues and onboard new joiners Collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders Proactively offer insights and present achievements Occasionally propagate backend changes to frontend
