Requirements:
15+ years of experience in credit risk, including 7+ years in a leadership role. Extensive expertise in consumer credit risk across the lifecycle—preferably in fintech, challenger banks, or alternative lending environments. Proven track record building credit risk functions through high growth phases. Experience managing managers and directors across modeling, strategy, and risk analytics. Expert knowledge of credit data, scoring systems, and risk governance frameworks. Proven track record influencing senior stakeholders and working cross-functionally. The ability to communicate complex credit risk concepts to diverse audiences. Hands-on experience with risk infrastructure, decision engines, and reporting tools. Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present to the Board and executive leadership. Passion for developing inclusive teams and mentoring talent.
Responsibilities:
Architect and execute KOHO’s credit risk strategy across all lending products. Build and scale teams, managing multiple levels of talent responsible for credit risk modeling, strategy, reporting, and governance. Design and implement credit policies, underwriting guidelines, and credit lifecycle strategies. Define and monitor key credit risk metrics, portfolio trends, and early warning indicators. Drive data-driven decision-making in product development, pricing, and growth initiatives. Lead credit risk governance and deliver strategic insights to internal and external stakeholders. Partner with Finance on portfolio forecasting and debt facility management. Lead regulatory examinations and maintain relationships with regulators on credit risk matters. Ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance, including IFRS9 reporting and credit loss provisioning. Present to and advise the Board Risk Committee on credit portfolio performance, emerging risks, and strategic initiatives. Own budget accountability for the credit risk function. Establish strategic partnerships with credit bureaus, data providers, and risk technology vendors. Foster a culture of ownership, continuous improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. Mentor and develop future credit risk leaders across the organization.
