Director of Data Science

Proven experience leading large-scale data or engineering organizations (managing managers). Deep technical expertise in Python, MLOps frameworks, and Cloud Data Architecture (AWS/GCP). Experience deploying Generative AI or Large Language Models (LLMs) in a production environment. Strong background in Data Engineering fundamentals (pipelines, warehouses, real-time streaming). Experience with 'Type 1' strategic decision-making regarding technology choices and organizational structure.

Drive long-term technical strategy for Data Engineering, GenAI, and MLOps. Lead adoption of Generative AI and advanced ML techniques. Own the vision for the data tech stack. Ensure operational excellence and understand service scaling limits. Evolve system architecture to support future requirements. Manage the entire lifecycle of data production. Grow effective leaders and delegate responsibilities. Own calibration and performance review processes. Drive department-level hiring initiatives. Reinforce the tech department culture. Define processes balancing agility and discipline. Translate business requirements into technical deliverables. Author tech blog posts and encourage team contributions. Participate in community events and speak at conferences. Encourage open-source contributions.
