Requirements:
Deep knowledge of IBM i (AS/400) systems, including LPARs, IFS, DB2/SQL, MQ, partitioning, and core middleware. Experience implementing DevOps pipelines, CI/CD, automation, MDCMS version control, and infrastructure-as-code in midrange environments. Skilled in optimizing performance using IBM Performance tools (Job Watcher, SQL Performance tools, ACS, etc.). Familiarity with emerging trends in midrange computing, cloud integration, and developer productivity tools (bonus points).
Responsibilities:
Assess IBM i (AS/400) environments to identify bottlenecks. Develop a roadmap for modernizing IBM i environments. Integrate automation, cloud solutions, and DevOps best practices. Define strategies for self-service environments, CI/CD automation, and infrastructure-as-code. Research and implement new technologies to enhance developer productivity. Identify opportunities for performance and cost optimization. Collaborate with various teams and explain technical concepts. Mentor others within the team and client organizations.
