Requirements
- Experience supporting critical SaaS environments on AWS and Kubernetes.
- Strong focus on automation, observability, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency with automation tools like Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.
- Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog.
- Ability to define SLO/SLI and create actionable dashboards.
- Experience in incident management and conducting Root Cause Analyses (RCA).
- Must be a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada, OR have a valid Canadian work permit.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with engineering teams on system design, platform development, capacity planning, and release reviews.
- Continuously innovate by identifying pain points and leading initiatives to improve the platform.
- Maintain services by monitoring availability, latency, and system health.
- Optimize observability by enhancing monitoring and alerting with Datadog; define SLOs/SLIs.
- Develop and foster automation using internal tools, IaC, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Evolve systems sustainably through automation and reliability improvements.
- Practice sustainable incident management and conduct blameless post-incident analyses.
- Implement monitoring, logging, alerting, and SLA reporting.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Implement and evolve SRE best practices.
- Act as incident commander during incidents, coordinating response and communication.
