Senior Software Engineer, Full-Stack - Vehicle Data Platform

5+ years of professional industry experience in software development Strong programming/coding fundamentals in a language such as Java, Python, or Golang Experience designing and architecting large, high-scale systems Ability to estimate, communicate, and deliver upon project milestones Experience with large-scale observability for production systems Experience triaging and assessing incoming customer and QA found issues Bachelors or masters in computer science, engineering or similar Experience working on a production system that manages large amounts of data Experience designing and developing highly-reusable interfaces Experience shipping to customers or building platform Built production services using Golang Experience fostering collaboration and camaraderie in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Experience leading and mentoring engineers

Lead technical discussions to identify gaps in the telematics data platform and influence the roadmap. Work with firmware engineers and vehicle experts to make vehicle data and insights visible to end customers. Collaborate with other engineering teams on design decisions and understand downstream implications. Ship features used by customers and iterate based on their feedback. Measure impact of features and iterate based on outcomes. Champion and model Samsara’s cultural principles.
