Data Specialist for Compliance - LATAM

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Scientist with a strong focus on AML/CFT transaction monitoring. Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Python, R). Proficiency in machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow). Experience with cloud-based platforms, such as Amazon SageMaker AI (plus). Proven expertise in data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation techniques. Deep understanding of AML/CFT regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices (significant advantage). Strong experience in data segmentation, including customer segmentation. Proactive and collaborative mindset. Ability to take the lead in a small team. Ability to drive projects to completion by engaging with internal and external partners. Excellent problem-solving skills. Attention to detail. Passion for building scalable and robust systems.

Lead the end-to-end data lifecycle for AML/CFT and sanctions screening systems. Take ownership of data from sources like Amazon Athena and Looker. Build and optimize ETL processes. Ensure data quality. Proactively engage with IT and data teams. Design, build, and deploy advanced machine learning models to detect and prevent financial crime. Minimize false positives and identify new typologies. Engineer robust features from transaction data. Implement and maintain real-time and batch monitoring systems. Analyze millions of transactions monthly. Engage with Compliance Leadership to stay ahead of evolving AML/CFT regulations. Generate comprehensive reports and dashboards for regulatory reporting and internal insights. Communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
