Senior Product Engineer (Backend, Java) - Europe

5-8 years of industry experience as a backend or product engineer Strong object oriented programming fundamentals in Java Spring Boot, Hibernate (or equivalent) experience Relational Database Design and SQL optimisation Testing, monitoring and troubleshooting Ability to design and build backend systems that can scale Previous experience with Golang and/or Typescript is a bonus Experience with owning features end-to-end Experience with communicating software design ideas Extensive experience with AI-powered engineering tools (Cursor, Claude)

Be the go-to person for backend in your product area Work with CTO and Tech Lead to set technical direction Collaborate with product, design, and customers to plan, design, build, and ship features Deploy, monitor, troubleshoot, debug, support, maintain, and evolve features and code Leverage AI-powered engineering tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.) to accelerate development Own and maintain product and technical documentation Support team members and mentor junior engineers Follow company culture and communication guidelines
