Data Science Manager

10+ years relevant work experience & relevant Masters or 7+ years & relevant PhD. 2-5 years experience directly managing a team of data scientists. 3+ years of startup experience. Excellent communicator and team player. Proven track record of solving complex business problems with DS/ML solutions. Experience communicating outcomes to senior management. Strong end-to-end DS development skills. Strong practical ML/Stats knowledge. Experience writing production code and tests. Interest in developing deep domain expertise. Familiarity with identity solutions, fintech, or adjacent industries is a bonus.

Directly manage a team of data scientists (2-3 growing to 5-6). Act as a technical mentor and provide detailed direction. Lead planning, resourcing, and communication with senior leadership and cross-functional teams. Guide team to deliver performant DS solutions on aggressive timelines. Develop and maintain fraud detection models through the full lifecycle. Research new fraud types and develop new identity verification products. Write production-ready code for real-time decision making. Design, perform, and present analyses to inform business decisions.
