Requirements

  • Qualified lawyer with ideally 6-10(+) years of experience in employment law, preferably from corporates/financial institutions or law firms.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law within APAC region.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to provide clear and concise legal advice to non-legal stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
  • Track record of working cross-functionally to achieve company goals while showcasing prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

  • Providing legal support to global HR functions and advising on employment related legal matters
  • Provide subject matter legal advice on employment law matters across APAC, including but not limited to, employee relations, workplace policies, terminations, and compliance with labor laws.
  • Take a lead role in managing external counsels
  • Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, severance agreements, and other employment-related documents.
  • Conduct legal research and stay up to date with changes in employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on employment law topics for HR teams and management.
  • Provide support to senior management and participate in strategic planning for improvement
  • Assist in the resolution of employment disputes, including handling grievances, mediations, and representing the company in employment-related litigation.
  • Collaborate with HR and management to develop and implement effective workplace policies and procedures.
  • Provide guidance on best practices for employee performance management, disciplinary actions, and workplace investigations.
  • Support the company's diversity and inclusion initiatives by ensuring compliance with equal employment opportunity laws.
