Requirements:
  • 8+ years of Canadian payroll experience, including in-house payroll processing and compliance.
  • Deep knowledge of Canadian payroll legislation, tax regulations, and employment standards.
  • Experience with payroll implementations, process optimization, and automation.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to resolve complex payroll issues.
  • Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Ceridian, ADP, Workday) and Microsoft Excel.
  • PCP or CPM certification from the National Payroll Institute is preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and execute end-to-end payroll processing for Canada, ensuring timely and accurate payroll runs.
  • Maintain compliance with federal and provincial labor laws, tax regulations, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure proper calculations for statutory deductions, benefits, and remittances (e.g., CRA, Revenu Québec).
  • Conduct payroll reconciliations, audits, and compliance checks.
  • Stay updated on legislative changes and implement necessary payroll adjustments.
  • Assist in onboarding and implementation of payroll solutions for Canadian clients.
  • Advise clients on payroll best practices, configuration, and process optimization.
  • Troubleshoot payroll issues, ensuring timely and accurate resolutions.
  • Work closely with internal teams (HR, Finance, Implementation) to align payroll processes with business needs.
  • Identify inefficiencies in payroll operations and implement best practices to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support payroll automation and system enhancements, collaborating with IT and product teams.
  • Develop and maintain payroll documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
  • Act as a trusted advisor for payroll-related inquiries from internal teams and clients.
  • Provide training sessions on Canadian payroll regulations and system usage.
  • Work closely with external partners, including payroll vendors and government agencies.
