Lead Packaging Systems Engineer- Paper/General Industrial

BS Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical experience. 10+ years of industry-relevant experience in engineering of consumer products. Experience with integration systems and systems engineering (preferred). Experience developing system concepts, executing final system designs, and developing written line operations strategies (preferred). Conveyor application experience (preferred). Knowledge of Web Handling (unwind, rewind, cutting, printing) – towel and tissue (preferred). Analyzing and designing utilities to support converting systems (preferred). Proficiency in AutoCAD (preferred). Proficiency in 3D design software (preferred). Experience with simulation software (FlexSim, Plant Simulation) (preferred). Experience with Autodesk Navisworks, ReCap (preferred). Understanding of balanced line flow for converting and packaging systems (preferred).

Lead and support mechanical design for converting and packaging line projects. Execute capital projects within defined scopes, costs, and schedules. Develop concepts, deliverables, effort hours, and estimated costs for engineering proposals. Prepare systems analysis, conceptual designs, layouts, specify equipment, and prepare detailed design packages for bid and installation. Delegate design work and hold team members accountable. Perform QAQC of design packages. Interface with clients and vendors regularly. Work as part of a collaborative project team. Gather field data and conduct field investigations in manufacturing environments. Solicit and review equipment bids. Lead design reviews internally and with clients. Provide startup support and troubleshooting for installed systems. Coach and mentor other engineers and designers.
