Systems Administrator

Requirements:

• 3+ years experience administering Linux/UNIX systems.
• Familiarity with various cloud computing platforms, specifically Amazon AWS, DigitalOcean, and Linode.
• Understanding of container technologies including Docker, podman, LXC, and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of the PHP language and best practices for setup and configuration.
• Experience in DevOps is desirable.
• Knowledge of networking tools/technologies such as HAProxy, routing, firewall (iptables or nftables).
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, and DNS for debugging.
• Experience with Nginx, PHP, MySQL, Redis, and Varnish is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and time-management skills.

Responsibilities:

• Build, install, configure, upgrade & maintain both physical and virtual infrastructure.
• Ensure systems are consistently delivered quickly and with high availability.
• Work with the development team to design fast, scalable systems.
• Proactively monitor and manage the health and configuration of the system.
• Remove performance bottlenecks from current systems.
• Apply and update system upgrades, firmware, and infrastructure changes.
• Take corrective actions based upon Standard Operating Procedures.
• Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis.
