About Archer
Archer is pioneering sustainable air mobility, transforming urban travel with all-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. We are designing, manufacturing, and operating the Midnight aircraft, a quiet, efficient air taxi capable of carrying four passengers for 60 miles at speeds up to 150 mph. Our technology will offer a faster, safer, and greener alternative to ground transportation. We are backed by $1.68 billion in funding across 6 rounds and partnered with United Airlines, securing orders for up to 200 aircraft. Our team of 501-1000 employees is driving the future of flight, with expected FAA certification in late 2024 and initial commercial operations by 2025 in the US, UAE, and India.
How We Work
We are building an equitable and inclusive environment where diversity drives better insights. Our values are Innovation, Optimism, Collaboration, Results, and Safety. These principles shape our daily operations and performance management. While our headquarters are in San Jose, we embrace remote-friendly roles, especially for our teams in Brazil. We use tools like Slack for open communication and real-time idea exchange, fostering a collaborative spirit across distances.
Engineering at Archer
Our engineering teams solve hard problems in aerospace, focusing on safety-critical embedded software for flight control and battery management systems. You will work with C/C++, Python, and bash, developing software that complies with stringent safety standards like DO-178C (DAL-A/B) and ISO 26262. We utilize MATLAB/Simulink for model-based design and certification (DO-331), ensuring precision and reliability in our aircraft systems. You will also work with various communication protocols (RS-422/485, CAN, ARINC-429) and specialized lab instruments. We also explore VHDL, Verilog, RTOS, and Linux environments to push the boundaries of electric aviation technology.
