Requirements
- Have a bachelor's or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Have at least 5 years of professional experience supporting and administering middleware or commercial enterprise products in production environments.
- Have hands-on experience installing, configuring, upgrading and troubleshooting middleware and application servers.
- Have strong experience administering web and application servers, particularly Apache HTTP Server and Tomcat.
- Have advanced Linux administration skills, preferably Red Hat Enterprise Linux, and solid Windows Server experience.
- Have experience with Ansible or equivalent configuration management tools, plus Bash and PowerShell scripting.
- Have experience with Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Nexus or comparable build and deployment technologies.
- Have hands-on experience with Docker, Podman, Kubernetes or OpenShift.
- Understand DNS, TLS/SSL, reverse proxies, firewalls and load balancing.
- Have experience with monitoring application and infrastructure performance, availability and reliability.
- Have experience with ServiceNow or equivalent ITSM tools, incident management and production support.
- Be fluent in written and spoken English.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, maintain and upgrade middleware platforms and commercial enterprise applications.
- Provide second- and third-line support for incidents, service requests and complex production issues.
- Investigate recurring technical problems, perform root-cause analysis and implement solutions.
- Manage web and application servers, including Apache HTTP Server and Apache Tomcat.
- Administer and troubleshoot middleware on Linux and Windows Server.
- Automate installations, configuration management, deployments and routine operations using Ansible and scripting.
- Contribute to CI/CD processes using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, Nexus or equivalent tools.
- Monitor infrastructure performance, availability and security, and resolve issues.
- Support containerised applications and platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift or equivalent technologies.
- Collaborate with database and other technical teams, and maintain operational documentation, procedures, guides and runbooks.
