Requirements
- Write highly maintainable, performant Python code.
- Build modern data pipelines using dbt, Kafka, Spark, AWS Kinesis, AWS Lambda, and Apache Airflow or similar.
- Understand data modelling patterns.
- Have deep knowledge of complex SQL, including Common Table Expressions, window functions, and performance.
- Have end-to-end monitoring and alerting experience with tools such as CloudWatch or Datadog.
- Balance innovative problem-solving with pragmatic technology choices for business needs.
- Be comfortable working in a dynamic production environment and managing client expectations.
- Bring a customer focus and quality mindset.
- Work closely with engineering leadership and architects.
- Maintain ownership and transparency in deliverables.
- Communicate complex ideas simply.
- Work on a B2B contract initially lasting three months.
Responsibilities
- Build core infrastructure software, including pipelines, APIs, and data modelling, for a client data platform.
- Instrument systems and enhance them for performance.
- Provide data offerings to internal and external stakeholders using secure authentication patterns.
- Choose and implement technologies that scale data access patterns, batch processing, and data streaming for soft real-time consumption.
- Apply knowledge of the client's business domain when developing data solutions.
- Coach and mentor other engineers to support their technical development.
